Brace Yourself Muncie, we have become Dangerously Inspired!

As we journey home in a graceful window of approaching snow, we are energized by what we experienced in Milwaukee! What a great city that seems to not pay attention to the idea of tomorrow. Every where we went there was this calm urgency of living each day to its fullest. This was apparent in the rooms of City Hall, throughout greenhouses, in the neighborhood taverns, in warehouses of food production,  on the banks of Lake Michigan and winding through the river valleys and tributaries.  Milwaukee is an inspiration, like others, to the Rust Belt morale of grit and soot.  In an oasis of former industrial sludge, brownfields and cream city bricks there lies clanking glasses, swing dancing and doers.  Through experimentation and limitless thought they have adapted to create and lead in new ways sparking sustainability and recovery.

As Muncie explores its identity,  heritage and future I highly recommend that we don't overlook our existing qualities, uniqueness and potential.   May we enjoy the journey each day living with a present minded exploration that is not limited to what resources we wish we had, but instead embracing the resources we do have and continuing to build apon that.
